Heat shrink tunnels shrink pre-applied films to seal packages, trays and bottles. Containers pass through the tunnel on a conveyor. There are three types of heat shrink tunnels: recirculating, infrared, and stream. In the recirculating tunnel, heated air circulates through the tunnel and it shrinks the plastic film around the product protecting it from air and moisture.

Often the heat shrink tunnel follows a L-bar sealer that applies the shrink film to the product.
