Bag flattener conveyors are used to flatten filled bags for uniform stacking. Filled bags are “squeezed”, shaping the bags to a uniform “brick-like” shape for better palletizing. Uniformly flattened bags ensure less product spillage and product damage due to uneven pallet loads.
Depending on the product, bag flattening conveyors can be dual belts or roller/belts. The roller/belt bag flatteners are used with free-flowing products like corn or granules. Dual belt bag flatteners are used with non-free-flowing products like flour or soil.
Bag flatteners are usually located after a bag kicker/turner and before a transfer conveyor. Inpak Systems offers bag flatteners from Chantland, ESP, JEM, and Rapat.
